Crash Overview
The lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court. It alleges negligence, statutory vehicle-owner liability, and negligent entrustment. According to the suit, more investigation is needed to determine whether Cannon was the person driving the Jeep.
The plaintiffs say Joshua Rayshon Little was driving east on Sunset Boulevard with Mackenzie Ann Hacker in the front passenger seat. The plaintiffs contend that they had a green light as they entered the intersection, and that the Jeep, which had been waiting in a left-turn lane, pulled forward and hit the Mercedes, which ended up upside down.
According to the suit, the other driver did not stop, check on the occupants, render aid, exchange information, or wait for police. A bystander reportedly recorded the Jeep's license plate as it was driven away, and the suit states the plate showed the vehicle was owned by Cannon.
Little and Hacker are seeking unspecified damages. The suit states that both received medical care and that the Mercedes was a total loss. A representative for Cannon could not be reached for comment before the story was published.
