Crash Overview

With five laps left, the race was halted under a red flag. Logano's car had left the ground and come down upside down, and crews took several minutes to right it, after which Logano got out of the car as fans cheered.

According to the report, Logano was running fourth when a push from Carson Hocevar caused him to lose control. The incident set off a pileup on the frontstretch that also involved Chase Briscoe, Brad Keselowski, Austin Cindric, Josh Berry and Riley Herbst. Herbst was reported to have lost his brakes before striking the inside wall at close to full speed.

Herbst exited his car with help from safety workers. He later said he was okay. Logano credited the safety crew and said the car's roll cage held up better than it had in a previous airborne wreck at Talladega.

Kyle Larson went on to win the race after the wreck was cleared, finishing ahead of William Byron and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. With two races left, Larson leads the points standings, and both remaining races are scheduled to air on NBC.

Why the Official Report Matters

The official accident report documents key facts—who was involved, where and when it happened, the officer's fault determination, and witness statements. Insurance companies rely on it to process claims.

Without this report, proving fault becomes significantly harder. Even if you don't plan to file a lawsuit, having the official record protects you if the other party's insurance disputes your account.
