News brief: based on one report

ClickOnDetroit | WDIV Local 4 reported on October 28, 2026, that a crash has closed westbound Interstate 94 at Schaefer Highway in Dearborn, Michigan. The headline indicates that traffic in that direction is blocked at that interchange as a result of the incident.

The headline does not say what caused the crash, how many vehicles were involved, whether anyone was hurt, or how long the closure is expected to last. No other news outlet has independently confirmed these details or the closure itself, so they should be treated as unverified for now.

The official crash report is kept by the law-enforcement agency that handled the crash. People involved in a crash can ask that agency for a copy of the report.

Why the Official Report Matters

The official accident report documents key facts—who was involved, where and when it happened, the officer's fault determination, and witness statements. Insurance companies rely on it to process claims.

Without this report, proving fault becomes significantly harder. Even if you don't plan to file a lawsuit, having the official record protects you if the other party's insurance disputes your account.
